What is One Step Behind?

One step behind is a satirical tribute to this so called "GREAT" country, the United States of America.

For so many years, large and powerful corporations have been funneling enormous amounts of money out of their companies (legally, in the form of bonuses, paychecks, and incentives) and into their executive's pockets. They make small donations ($1 million is small for a company that PROFITS THOUSANDS OF MILLIONS of dollars a year). Actually a one million dollar breast cancer donation from one company is less than 1/33 of 1% of their TOTAL PROFIT. Say that out loud.

Where does it come from?

One Step Behind came from this simple saying, "If at first you don't succeed, failure may be your style." This country has been failing miserably for years now.
We have always been one step behind when it has come to many things such as the environment, reusable and clean energy, and the deficit. Our country's government is so far in debt, America's best option at this point is to file bankruptcy!

Where can I get some motivation?

Motivation comes in many forms. Unfortunately, the motivation to build this website came from this country falling apart at the seams. America should have been investing in environmentally friendly energy decades ago and no private company, nor the government decided to make it a priority, and our country's dependance on oil is amout that of a heroin addict to heroin. The country's economy failed right now because no one expanded into "green" energy decades ago. Not Ford, not GM, not the U.S. Government, not anyone. Now we think our country does not pollute the environment all that much. Well we have a yearly deficit to China of nearly 17 Billion dollars, China is doing more than ecough pollution for the rest of the world.

What can we do about it?

Well, we can keep doing what we have been doing in this country for decades and continue to ignore the problems that we have been creating. We can continue down the lonely road of alienation from the rest of the world. We can pretend that the problems with this country are everyone else's problems and don't affect us individually. OR, we can change. Change requires time, effort, money, and acknowledging the failures that have already occurred.
