One step behind is another educational tribute to this so called "GREAT" country, the United States of America.
This country has become more and more disgusting from a physical stand point and financial stand point. If America and Americans had been building solar power greenhouses and wind powered greenhouses, our food supply would be free of pesticides and diseases. We could have been building massive sized greenhouses as big as Wal-Mart's all across the country and instead of being retail distribution centers they could have been completely environmentally friendly food production centers where science could have grown things naturally. Indoor orchards, indoor vegetable gardens.
We could have had marijuana grow houses that produced corn instead of pot. The production levels of these greenhouses would have been able to keep the ozone layer much more intact. Pollution levels would have been manageable and the BP Oil Ecological Terrorism attack may have never happened because our country would have been surviving off of safe fuel made from corn, or ethanol. The problem is that we have always been 20-30 year behind on what we "SHOULD BE DOING RIGHT." We started building fast food cancer causing meat shacks across the country with banks on every other street corner and retail stores. The entire country is now building after building of retail store fronts, that are finding fewer and fewer places to fill them.
The previous generations of this country were blinded by greed. They were blinded by the HERE and NOW of the moment, and decided not to think about the future, even after previous oil spills and harmful effects to the environment. Greenhouses and ethanol could have been just as profitable as McDonald's and Wal-mart had someone decided to venture into that avenue of science. Today hundreds of banks have gone bankrupt along with many other companies and trying to turn back the hands of time is now impossible. We are stuck with the inevitable fate of overpopulation. At this point, there is not enough time or money to reverse the effects and damage we have caused this planet. We should have been leading the "GREEN" way decades ago. Too little too late has new meaning. Solar power was first discovered, used, and invented in 1861. A hundred and forty years ago, we knew about solar power. Two years earlier, batteries were invented and first created and used. Wind energy has been used as early as sails on ships. It wasn't really first harnessed fully until the early 1900's. That means that we could have been using solar power and windmill energy to charge batteries and power machines and buildings and vehicles with clean energy all across the globe.
Windmills and solar panels were the most important things that we could have been producing and selling. We now have fallen enormously behind in being able to produce clean methods of energy and the cost is one of the obstacles because we were not focusing on making solar panels as cheap as laptop computers. ALTHOUGH INTEREST in solar-powered homes is growing, only 1 percent of homes on Oahu are estimated to have a solar PV (photovoltaic system) system, according to Mark Duda, president of the Hawaii Solar Energy Association.
